Duelling ‘Tenders Show Us How To Win
WHAT A GOALIE CLINIC PUT ON LAST NIGHT FOR US TO SEE A bad bounce for the tieing goal against future Hall of Famer Martin Brodeur didn’t faze him nor his team mates last night, if fact I think it woke them up to start playing harder and to win . With this win the Devils have tied up the finals 1 game a piece against the ‘Blue Shirts’ of New York and now head back to the Jersey State for games 3 and 4. The 40 year old ‘tender of the netted twines’ has been outstanding these playoffs and when you need players to bounce back from a close defect Brodeur is your man….
Road Warriors Kings Defect Coyotes 4-0
WHO WAS THAT MASKED MAN ANYWAY! Okay, ‘Riddle me this Batman?’ (Alright I’m showing my age here) What do have when you get a team winning 7 road games in a row and non-factor player coming to life? Well for all you ‘Cape Crusaders’ out there you get the Road Warriors, aka the LA Kings and the guy in the cape who came out of no where to score a hat-trick (not one scored in LA playoffs since Gretzky ’93) Jeff ‘I Think I will Play Now’ Carter. Only in LA Baby, only in LA! After the first game the Coach here wrote that the Coyotes shouldn’t panic, time to re-group and come into the…
It’s Only One Game – Relax
THE MASTERMINDS BEHIND THE PLAYERS After watching last nights contest between the Phoenix Coyotes and the LA Kings and what I heard spoken about from both clubs you would of thought the Coyotes just lost game 7 and were done for the year. Come on guys, relax it is only game one, just do some reviewing and get back at it! Now don’t get me wrong here I’m neither a LA King nor Coyote fan, I really only want to see some good hockey played and coached but come on, 1st game there’s going to be some jitters from the rookies and that includes the coaches. We had said earlier on in another post that…
THEN THERE WAS FOUR
RANGERS – DEVILS – BRING IT ON! We can now begin with what most hockey fans feel will be the hardest fought semi-finals in Stanley Cup Playoffs history ever. The New York Rangers finally got rid of what was becoming a ‘Fly off the horses back’ pest as in the Washington Capitals last night to take their quarter finals round in 7 games and move onto face their real nemesis,’Cross County’ foes the New Jersey Devils. If you think the Caps were a real pest the ‘Blue Shirts’ wait till this series gets going and into a game or two and you will be treated to a series like no others. Going down in the…
Aerospace Technology Helps Rescue Hockey Sticks, Save Cash!
Warren Nye next to his hockey stick repair equipment May 2, 2012. The Lucan resident and general manager of the junior B St. MaryÕs Lincolns is the newest franchisee for Integral Hockey, a stick repair company based in British Columbia that offers a cost effective and environmentally friendly repair procedure for broken sticks. CHRIS MONTANINI\LONDONER\QMI AGENCY By Chris Montanini Londoner There are few athletes more finicky about the tool of their trade than hockey players. Crazy sports superstitions aside, a hockey stick comes with more options than casual observers of the sport might realize. Stiff or flexible? Heel curve or toe curve? A fancy spiral tape job for extra grip, or just traditional black around…
Lessons To Learn By Going Into Third Round
Well, well well…. I’m all messed up like a kit in a hail storm on all my Stanley Cup Playoff predictions aren’t I? I had said the Nashville Predators would go the distance and take game 7, WRONG!! I had said the St. Loius Blues would also go the distance against the LA Kings and win in game 7, WRONG AGAIN!! Cheez I’ll be surprised if I get out of the second round not going for the ‘Big O’fer’ as the Rangers and Caps are going into game 6 with the Rangers up 3-2 in games and the Flyers vs Devils, well again I look like I’m out to ‘pasture’ on that one as well,…

One Express Hockey Year
Having enjoyed myself on my extended roadtrip thus far, HBIC wants to use today to look at some of the lesser known team that the cities I’m visiting have called home. While the Chicago Blackhawks are one of the Original Six teams, Chicago is home to a…

I’ve been working on a few historical pieces for the upcoming entries, but I’m happy to offer this blog as a soapbox for other writers and fans who want to voice their opinions on whatever topic they find interesting in hockey. I offered up that anyone…
